I recently had the pleasure of photographing an English-Chinese fusion wedding at Rivervale Barn in Hampshire.
This picturesque venue boasts stunning gardens, including a beautiful Japanese bridge that adds a unique touch to the atmosphere.
Before the Ceremony
In the morning the girls had a fantastic room for the bridal preparations.
It’s the perfect spot with wooden beams to hang the dress, afternoon tea with cakes and sandwiches for the girls, and a separate room for hair and makeup!
I photographed the details, the girls getting their make-up and then the big moment – getting into the dress. She looked stunning, with a beautiful draped back detailing on the back of the dress, hair, makeup and flowers to finish the look.
Soon Dad stopped by for his first look and I captured this wonderful, intimate moment between them. Something that I always feel so honoured to be able to capture.
Rivervale Barn Wedding Ceremony
The wedding ceremony itself was a humanist one, held outdoors under the warm sunshine and surrounded by majestic trees.
It was a truly enchanting setting, creating a relaxed and natural atmosphere that perfectly matched the couple’s vision for their special day.
The Reception
Drinks were served on the green with the sun & venue making a beautiful backdrop and setting.
I had the pleasure of capturing relaxed moments of the guests and the couple and then we headed off for some couple photographs in the gardens and by the Japanese bridge.
We ended with a confetti tunnel and a big group photograph before heading into the wedding breakfast.
Evening Celebrations
We had the most gorgeous room for the wedding breakfast ready for the heartfelt speeches.
The day ended with a stunning sunset so we went out for a few minutes to capture the beautiful evening light. Then back to the dancefloor with the sunset flowing onto the dancefloor & the festivities kicked into full swing! The dance floor quickly filled up with guests, thanks to the incredible groove band called Tru Groove. Their infectious energy kept everyone dancing all night long!
